Bear Skin Campaign & Foie Gras Campaign

Project
Description
We have supported their anti-bear skin awareness campaign aimed at the Ministry of Defence to stop the buying of bearskins for ceremonial headgear. PETA are working with MPs to try and get debates going within Parliament on this important issue and so far over 200 British members of Parliament have signed on to Early Day Motion 1756 in the House of Commons. This progressive motion recognises that the ornamental caps serve no military purpose whatsoever and would stop the unnecessary slaughter of 1000’s of brown bears if more humane, synthetic fur was used.
Our donation will assist them with their advertising costs for the campaign here in the UK.
We have additionally supported their anti-foie gras awareness campaign here in the UK which will highlight the terrible suffering of geese and ducks raised only for foie gras within factory farms. They hope to encourage UK based businesses to stop selling foie gras and UK councils to ban the sale of foie gras.
